In the Bible, Is Jesus Prophet of God, Or Not?
73Growing up, religion was our main focus. Unlike today's world which is all focused on worldly things. I was introduced to Issa(Jesus), through the Quran. His story touched me, and taught me alot about the world we live in. I viewed Issa to be the same as Mohamed, a prophet of Allah. I believed in his messages, his book, and the fact that he had no father.
We believe that Jesus (called 'Isa in Arabic) was the son of Mary, and was conceived without the intervention of a human father. The Qur'an describes that an angel appeared to Mary, to announce to her the "gift of a holy son" (19:19). She asked: "How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?" (19:20). When the angel explained to her that she had been chosen for the service of God, and that God had ordained the matter, she devoutly submitted herself to His will.
Years later, after my first understanding of the life of Jesus, I found out that to some, jesus was the "son of God". This idea, totally contradicts my previous teaching of Islam Monotheism. Not only that, but it also turns christianity into a polotheisic religion since there is more than one figure to worship.
I believe in the bible, but I don't believe Issa(Jesus), was son of God. Therefore, to avoid being biased, I researched the bible briefly. I was astonished to see the revelations that proof Issa to be no more than a prophet. "Thou shalt worship the lord, thy God; And him only shalt thou serve" Mathew 4:10. This shows that Issa wanted his people to worship none other than god, not in conjunction with the Son of God.
Based on the biblical term "Son of God, it refered to any god fearing righteous person. Both in the Old and New Testament. "Blessed are the peace-makers, for they shall be called the CHILDREN OF GOD" Mathew 5:9. In Mathew 5:45 --"That ye may be children of your Father which is in heaven. Even Issa himself warned his people of what in Islam is refered to as shirk(Polytheism.) He said in Mathew 7:21 "Not everyone that sayeth unto me (Jesus), Lord Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doeth the will of my father, which is in heaven"
Finaly, the term Father, is used for God numerous place in the bible. It is never used exclusively for Jesus. It wouldn't make sense that if Jesus was god or part of God, that he would pray. And he prayed to god. "And when he has sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray..."
Again and Again, I find more reasons to believe the bible reveals Jesus as prophet, not son of god. In Mather 23:8 " And when the chief priests and pharisees had heard his parable, they perceived that he spoke of them. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude because they took him for a PROPHET"

Its clear from Bible and Quran that Jesus never claimed divinity. He was servant, messenger, prophet of Allah swt.
Dear George,
I like your comments in the last paragraph about your faith in god. It's a good point to start. Speaking about this, please click on the following link. Before I paste it, let me say, there's a belief that has no BS and no puzzle and claims to be the truth. You may have some doubt of course in the beginning since you don't know much yet. But please read it and let me know what you think. http://quran.com/13 and also http://quran.com/31
Thanks
I am amazed that there are so many people, like me, having a hard time with thinking Jesus is the Son of God. I was brought up to be Christian, but in my late 30's I began a friendship with an atheist and that caused me to review my thinking about God and Jesus. I can't say that it really makes sense that Jesus would die for our sins, as we are not worth saving. We are not here for God, heck he only has us around at a whim. If God wanted to forgive our sins all he has to do is forgive.
For me the death of Jesus goes back to the ignorant belief in sacrifice of purity to cleanse the sin away. I think that all religions have a little piece of the puzzle of what God is and the rest is a bunch of crap that religious leaders used to seperate themselves from other religions and to keep followers in check through fear. If we would unite and learn to get rid of the BS in religious writing and put the truths together we would find allot of answers.
I love God, and can see him by looking at all creation and have no problem in my faith, but if I am wrong about Jesus I can only hope that God will have mercy on me as I am trying to find the truth.
I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LVOE YOU JESUS I LVOE YOU GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with "Seek God, not religion" above. In general, holy scriptures cannot teach violence or to kill innocent soul, assume that even if you didn't read or know the book. It's common sense. Almighty god cannot teach violence in one holy book and teach peace in another. It's our misinterpretation that leads us astray. So please don't lead others astray. Because we don't just get accounted for our bad deeds, but our bad sayings as well due to the harm it does to others, no matter what religion we belong to. Don't just depend only on one source and totally make your decisions on it, be open. Prophets and messengers are brothers in prophecy and the message they deliver. If you find the truth, don't feel that you're too good to follow that religion or prophet. The enemies of Mohammed, Jesus and other prophets peace be upon them have found the truth but were stubborn to follow and preferred to follow personal interests. What happened to them, they suffered a crucial fate, such as the pharaoh and his followers dying in the sea. Post comments with no offence to anyone. A thing that you hate may become the most lovable thing to you and you thank yourself you did without delay because our short life may not hold on for us. I hope I didn't go off.

Dear All,
Please watch this video. It should help alot. Spread the word too, thank you all.
I agree that Jesus is a prophet. Paul and the chruch turned him into the only son of GOD. Christianity is based on lies and exagerations made up by a bunch of old men. Jesus loved and worshipped only GOD. Unfortunately Christians don't think to question were their religious teachings originated. I believe in Jesus and study his teachings, but I don't believe in Christianity anymore.

If you want to make sure that you truly see and that you are not blinded by Satan, then read this. Jesus is God, He allowed himself to be worshipped.
Ahmad Usman...i agreed with you...Jesus was a prophet of god..a messenger of god..and god's creation...not son of god...and definately not god.
Good hub and discussion going on
The terms “father”and “son” were used metaphorically, not literally. “father” was used by the Hebrews to indicate the Spiritual Father, not the literal father. Similarly, "son" is used to indicate a righteous person.
For about 400 years, the Christians believed Jesus to be just a prophet. It was later that the Church adopted the pagan concept of “son of God.”

If Jesus is the son of God then Christians should also believe:
David is the begotten Son of God. (Psalms 2:7)
Jacob is God's firstborn son. (Exodus 4:22)
Ephraim is God's firstborn son. (Jeremiah 31:9) [how many firstborns?]
Solomon is God's son (2 Samuel 7:13-14)
Adam is the son of God. (Luke 3:38)
All the people who are righteous are sons of God. (Mathew 5:9) and (Deuteronomy 14:1)
many prophet was send to the Jews coreect? Why do think God send prophets to them? not because of the are the choosen one....they are the worst one...they make what ever they want in this world...that's why God send them prophets to correct them but yet they still dissobey their prophets and killed one of them : Jesus (that is what they think)...THINK...
Wow...great discussions.I think we (Muslims and Christians) should open our eyes widely. While we both arguing this matters...Jews just laugh at us.Why? All this confusion started from them actually...histories shows that they dissobey God and Prophets for their selfish needs..who kill Jesus? Jews...and who wrote the Bible? Jews....so they afraid all Christian followers knows the truth about 2 last Prophet..Jesus (pbuh) and Mohammad (pbuh)..the rejected them as prophet...and changed the Holy Bible.Truth is something that will show others bad behaviour or intentions. Why the last prophet came from Arab?God knew that Jews will not succeed to change that because they don't have the Holy Koran with them...just think...from Abraham down to Jesus. All the prophets got so many problems with their Jewish people that are very rock headed and not grateful to what God have give them.Jews claim they were victims by other races in world. Is it true? What i see they are the beast since womens and chidrens of Palestine died for their brutality.Who are we to make decision what God looks like?If it true Jesus is God...why he can't speak entire world language...he knew just a few as mentioned in the Bible...why he need to sleep?why he need to eat and drink?....and why not he form up in flesh to be Ultraman or Kamen Rider..during that time i think it is easier to make people bow to you using your strenght rather than words....out of all why Jesus was picked to be God and not Adam or the other prophets? Is it because God make mistake then regret and so disguise as man long after human make sins and God taking punishment for what He created?Thats means God are not perfect because He doesn't know he have to do that earlier...God suppose to be Perfect and Great isn't it...Jews using their brains and used priest to turns the Holy Bible as what they want.Jesus was a Prophet with no doubts...but then came the idea he was Son of God...then Jesus himself was a God..what will come after this? Jesus is a Gay because he was not married compared to other Prophets?Come on...we can't create what we feels like to someone that was clearly send by God to help us find the right path.If all Christians be Priests and Nuns..you think can Christians would be expanding without having newborn babies in this world since they can't married? And if there is babies born by Nuns..would it be a baby without a father?Nowdays you could prove a father by DNA test but what about 2000 yrs ago? Then what shall we call the babies? Another God in the flesh form because they were born without a father? ...How many it will be? And why priest can't marry someone? Even Judaism allowed their priest to have wive. I do respect Jesus (pbuh) as a Prophet send by Great God not son of God nor God himself. For me all this started by Jews...they have still think they are the choosen race and no other races will sit the same level as they are....who knows? God knows........think my friends...think....all this was made by mens that use the Bible to and intepreted it wrongly..
I TOO BELIEVE THAT JESUS WAS THE GREATEST PROPHET OF GOD, BUT NOT GOD!! ONE QUESTION I WLD LIKE ANSWERED IS, IF GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE THEN THEY IN TURN HAD CAIN AND ABEL, THEN CAIN KILLED ABEL, WHERE DID WE ALL COME FROM?? I WAS RESEARCHING THE BIBLICAL FAMILY TREE AND BETWEEN CAIN AND ABEL AND DIRECTLY FROM EVE THE NAME SETH APPEARS, WHO IS HE? PLEASE SOME ONE REPLY IM CONFUSED,
i am god worship me jesus never said in any bible version or any translation dont beat the bush
Oh yeah one last thing, I dont think we should be using eachother's holy scriptures against each other because we all have a different interpretation of it. For example some mentioned that God is violent, because He saysin the bible He has given us a sword. "The sword" is a symbolism for the bible, He calls it the sword, because it is our weapon againt Satan. Obviosly this is figurative languague, because we probably won't have Satan face-to-face and get to stab him with a sword, what this means is that we must prepare our selves by reading the scriptures, so that when we face spiritual battles, we can fall back on our knowledge of the scripture and not be decieved by Satan. I also think that it is wrong to say that the Koran is a book of violence, because if you are not Muslim yourself and do not read the book with faith, you will not be able to interpret its real meaning. Someone mentioned above this book was written in a poetic time, reading ancient scriptures is almost like reading poetry, if you do not enjoy poetry, you probably will not apreciate its real meaning. If you are not Muslim, you probly wont apreciate the teachings of its book. I do not think any of the holy scriptures of the above mentioned religions ask that we kill or use violence, but rather ask us to live in peace.
I would like to make it really clear that I am in no way trying to prove my religion to be the correct one, or to force people to converting to Jesus Christ. I am stating my opinion and YES that means I am being BIASED, because like I said before, faith is not about what you read or what you see, its a conviction and certainty in what you believe in. When God decides to do so, he will open our eyes to see the truth. Meanwhile we just need to love him with all our hearts and remember that we need to love one another as brothers and sisters despite our differences. God Bless all Christians, Muslims, and Jews!!

I loved reading through everyone's opinions. I think we all have the right to hold a different point of view. I am a Christian and believe that there is a Holy Trinity. Not three Gods, but ONE God who has taken three forms, one as God The Father who we have not seen, God The Son who became a man in order to show us that it was possible to be flesh and still remain holy, and The Holy Spirit who is our consoler, the one that we cannot see, but we can definitely feel. I mean if you think about it, would you simply believe that a man could live in this world and face all its temptations without being contaminated unless he was God himself? If Jesus was just a prophet like Mohamed, Moses, Isaiah, Abraham, why was He the only one that was able to stay pure? Why was He the only one who could heal the sick, the blind and liberate the possessed without even touching them? I feel like it is simple, humans are never perfect, so how could Jesus be perfect if He wasn’t one with God? I understand that many of you want to see proof and want passages proving this fact from the bible and it is in the Bible, but it would mean nothing because someone who has a different book will try to prove it wrong or interpret it differently, but the Bible tells me in 2Corinthians 5:7 "WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT", so I will not let myself be confused or shaken by the good arguments made here. I believe in Jesus because of my faith, not by what I read in a book that was made by humans. I am 100% sure of the existence of God, because He has proven it to me over and over again not only by things I can see, but also by things I cannot see but feel in my spirit when I am in connection with Him. Or have any of you seeing God face-to-face? Where any of you even around when the "holy books" of the Jews, Christians or Muslims were written? I don't think so; there obviously are corrupted versions of all these books after so many centuries. If we let ourselves be guided by the text only, and believe only what is written in the book assigned to our religion, we will never have real connection with God. It is not only what is in the text, it is also having a relationship with God. I have found myself in moments of confusion about certain things in my life and have tried getting answers in the Bible and have not found them, but through prayer God has given me the understanding. I believe no religion, not even my own is completely correct, so why insult and fight one another, when we will not get to the absolute truth until God himself reveals himself to us. About the Holy Spirit, if you have never felt the Holy Spirit, I understand why you would argue that He does not exist. I always questioned Him as well until I had a beautiful experience with Him, its just one of those things you cannot understand by reading a book but you must experience yourself. God created all of us, so He knows each and everyone of our hearts, and He knows we are not perfect and we are wrong about many of the things we say and believe about Him, so I do not think we should be insulting one another or trying to prove each other wrong. We are not here to say who is wrong or right, let God be the judge of that and let’s allow him to teach us himself. We are in this world to learn and purify ourselves until it is God’s will to take us. Meanwhile we are to seek him from the bottom of our hearts and find out what He wants from us, while glorifying and worshipping Him. And don’t we all agree that’s what we are here for to love and seek God, and fulfill his purpose in our lives? So why argue against one another and try to enforce our religions onto another when we all came from the same God who loves us all equally despite our beliefs.
Oh this is rich, expecting Christians to bring their proofs when it's you as Muslims who have no proof that Muhammad was a prophet other then the word of the man himself: who's credibility as far as honesty and good deeds are concerned leave a lot to be desired. Very rich indeed!!!
As a Christian I am commanded to love my enemy and forgive them their trespasses unlike the muslim who is committed to convert, subjugate or kill me by a bedouin charlatan who was himself a thief, rapist, child molester and slave trader and was was NOT a prophet of God.
Christianity has been established over 1900 years. It is the worlds largest religion. It is still growing fast with over a million muslims a year leaving Islam to follow Christ and you ask us to prove our religion. Well sorry but we have the "historical precedent" which means that the burden of proof rests on those who set forth new theories and not on those whose ideas have already been verified. The old tests the new. The already established authority judges any new claims to authority. Judaism and Christianity is the datum in which to test the validity of Islam. And if you say "the Christians corrupted their bible" then proove it!!!
Wasn't it Allah that said that his word was uncorruptable. Then how did the Christians corrupt his Injeel? If it is protected by Allah!!!
So I pass the book to DEQ and his brethren. Prove to me that Muhammad was a prophet of God.
But here is my first (of many) evidences that the Qur'an was in error scientifically which prooves that Mo was a Charlatan and a lier. Prove me wrong if you can and bring proof and references to back your claims up.
Quranic scientific mistakes (few of many).
1) It says in the Qur'an that the baby was created in three stages in the mothers stomach (not womb as many false translations by muslim apologists say).
Stage 1
The baby starts as a sperm. (false)
It starts as an egg which is fertilised by the man's sperm.
Stage 2
It becomes a clot of blood like a leech. (false)
It becomes an embryo.
Stage 3
It then gets wrapped in flesh (false)
The flesh skin bones nervous system vascular system etc etc all develop at the same time.
2) Here is another one for you.
In the Quran it states that the world is flat. A flat world was the basic understanding of the time and Muhammad was trying to be clever by revealing a Qur'an from Allah which stated this in order to fool the believers that Allah was confirming the creation scientifically, however we now know the world is a sphere.
3) It also explains in two places in the Quran the order in which Allah created the heavens and the earth. In one of them it says he finished the earth first and in the other it says Allah finished the heavens first so which is it?
Lets now look at "Islam is a religion of peace" (a complete fabrication)
Tthe early peaceful Meccan verses of the Qur'an were abrogated by the later barbaric Medinan verses. What kind of a god would state he created his word for all time then go and change it?
2:256 There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. (source Mecca)
The above verse and over a hundred other peaceful Meccan verses were abrogated by:
9:5 When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. If they repent and take to prayer and render the alms levy, allow them to go their way. God is forgiving and merciful.
So if you read any Sira Rasool Allah (biography of Muhammad) from any biographer you like other than from modern apologist Dhimmis like Karen Armstrong, you will see that Muhammad did what he wanted and had convenient revelations in order to make the exploration of his desires lawful.
Muhammad forced his adopted son Zayd (also Muhmmad's former slave) to divorce his beautiful young wife Zaynab bint Jash so that he could marry her himself because apparently Allah commanded it. Sura Al-Ahzab 33:37. It's obvious that he desired her and didn't care whether he hurt his son in the process. But what is even more despicable is that he used Allah's command (false command) as an excuse so Zayd wouldn't question it. It also proves the position of women in Islam. To be traded and exchanged as sex slaves to men.
In my opinion Muhammad was a satanic man.
And if he was a prophet then how come his revelation came from the pizza boy Jibreel and not straight from God like all of the prophets before him?
And finally in the Quran Allah said that Muhammad's sins were breaking his back. And that Issa was holy so why do you take Muhammad as the seal of the prophets and the perfect example of a human being to be emulated by all muslim men when he was a terrible sinner as Allah pointed out? Is it because the sins of the flesh, material gain, power and booty are what drives men's desires and Muhammad gave you the license to do anything you want ipso facto as long as it isn't to other muslims.
So come on. Prove your Muhammad was a prophet of god!
We're waiting!!!
Ahmed well written comment Thank you.
few more verses which your preist does not want you to listen.matthew 10:34 Think not that i come to send peace on earth:i came not to send peace, but a sword. Matthew 13:50for whosoevershall do the will of my father, which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.Matthew 19:17 and he said unto him,why callest thou me good?there is none good but one, that is god:Mark 12:29 and jesus answered them the first of all commanments is hear ,O israel;the lord our god is one lord: Mark 12:32and the scribe said unto him, well, master thou has said the truth:for there is one god;and there is none other than but he:John 5:19then answered jesus and said unto them, verily verily,i say unto you,the son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the father do John 5:30i can of my own self do nothing:as i hear i judge:and my judgement is just:because i seek not my own will, but the will of the father which has sent me.John 6:38for i came down from heaven, not to do mine own will but the will of him that sent me. John 7:16 jesus answered them, and said my doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. John 12:49 for i have not spoken of my self; but the father which sent me,he gave me a commandments, what i should say, and what i should speak. John 13: verily, verily,i say unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord;neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. John 15:24 he that loveth me not keepth not my saying:and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the father which sent me.
You have given interesting points, i too am starting to question my own understandings and interpritaions of Jesus.Im a catholic though...so what i have been brought up too believe is fasle?...or misinterprted? Thank you for sharing your information, it's good to see things from different perspectives.
please tell me if jesus is god why in mark 13:32 BUT ABOUT THAT DAY OR THAT HOUR NO ONE KNOWS,NOT EVEN THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN,NOT EVEN THE SON;ONLY THE FATHER. and matthew 7:21-23 NOT EVERY ONE THAT SAITH UNTO ME, LORD,LORD,SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN;BUT HE THAT DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.MANY WILL SAY TO ME IN THAT DAY,LORD,LORD,HAVE WE NOT PROPHESIED IN THY NAME?AND IN THY NAME CAST OUT DEVILS?AND IN THY NAME DONE MANY WONDERFUL WORKS? AND THEN WILL I PROFESS UNTO THEM,I NEVER KNEW YOU:DEPART FROM ME,YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.
WE need to wake up(all of us). its all man made, y do we need a god to be good to each other,y do we need a book to behave. we have brains! so before we believe in any book ,we should read it , think about it .then if it makes sense(one page after another) then we should believe in it. if there is a loving god then y did he let eve and adam get TEMPTED by demon to eat the apple, and get kicked out of that heaven that no one knows where it is? did god know that was going to happen?! if he did, then HOW COULD HE BE A LOVING GOD!? if he didnt know, then what kind of god is he(god who doesnt know whats going to happen to the people he created!!? I used to be a believer, strong one too. but now Im more of agnostic .your belief is between you and your god, dont let it come between you and I,he and she. lets just love, help one another not because a religion said so, but because WE ARE HUMAN ,OR AT LEAST LET'S TRY TO BE .
For those that believe Jesus was only a prophet and not God Himself, why was he crucified? He was a righteous man. Even Pilot said so at his trial. (Luke 23)
How did he heal the sick, give sight to the blind, and give life to the dead? Even He Himself, (Jesus), showed Himself alive to over 500 hundred people at one sitting, after His crucifixion? Only God can do this.
When Thomas, one of the twelve, was not present the first time He showed Himself to them, bowed before Him, after seeing His scared hands and feet, and said, " my Lord and my God." (John 20:28)
Jesus declared this Himself while talking to the religious rulers. They where claiming that their father was Abraham, and Jesus replied, " before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:58)
After a confrontation with the religious leaders, they were going to stone Him, and He asked them for what good thing are you going to stone Me, and they said not for any good thing you have done, but for blasphemy, because you being a man, "are claiming to be God." (John 10:31-33)
It is every where in the Bible that Jesus was God in human flesh and He came to pay the penalty for your sin and mine, and in so doing He opened the way for all of human kind to get to God. Not by anything that we do, but on the complete and finished work of God on the cross.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father but by Me." John 14:6

Well, I've been debating this thing for about 14 years now as I am a christian who has married a Muslim chiah. I've sat with "shekhs" and he debated many things with me. I have to say, I agree with VampireJack. My father has raised me in such a manner that my faith could never be shaken. Unfortunately (for my husband), the more I read about Islam, the more I know that I could never believe in it.
Everyone is entitled to their beliefs...but speaking from experience, please don't impose it on others. Just spread the love that should be for one another.
As per the remark about Adam and the 23 chromosones, it is said that Adam was made from earth and given life...I'm sure that you can find it written in both the Holy Bible and the Koran.
There are many contradictions in the Koran that I don't believe that God would say through Mohammad. It states in the Koran (sorry, can't remember the passages) that all who don't believe in Islam will go to hell...to kill all non-believers, etc. There are passages of violence in the Koran and I'm pretty sure that peace and forgiveness is the solution.
I bid you all good luck in figuring out what you are looking for but I can honestly say that this debate will only conclude when we die and go to heaven....
Until then....
Interesting read. One thing I should mention though is that Muslims always seem to claim that the Holy Bible and Torah have been corrupted - but according to their Qu'ran it couldn't have been. Clearly in the Qu'ran it does claim that it is confirmation of what came before. Seeing as there are Torah and New Testament scripture from before Mohammed came, that can be ratified with what is now available this cannot be incorrect. It seems that anything in the Qu'ran that apposes things that came earlier must be due to earlier interference. Or perhaps the Muslim holy text is the one that is corrupt. Look at it this way, Uthman, the 3rd Caliph, is KNOWN to have burned variations n the modern Qu'ran due to doubts from his soldiers as different people had differing books. HE decided which Qu'ran was the one to be officialated. (Much like Rome decided which books would be included in the Holy Bible) So for Muslims to say the Qu'ran has never been altered is incorrect - and most of you know this. Most Non-Muslims don't know this, so it's quite nice to be more holier than though with your faith and claim that the word of God has never been altered. Also, the verse of the sword is often thought to be controversial - mainly as it doesn't begin with the whole "In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Mercyful" - Many Muslim scholars who will defend this will state that "obviously it's an error" and originally it would have begun with the aforementioned. So in fact are stating that there have been errors/alterations. In regard to Jesus/Issa I know many Muslims say that there is only one God, and Jesus was just a Prophet. But to state that God coulnd only exist as one and not as two seperate entities is kind of blasphemous as God can do anything He wills. To claim that God couldn't have a Son (who is also He) really doubts his power over everything.
Peace.
Oh, and read books - Don't burn them.
WHAT is it with us(mankind), when we can't explaine an event or something that had happened we call it a mircale, or reffer it to god.
moses had to go up on a mountain(by himself) to talk to god. jesus was gone for about 20 days(no one knows where was he), mohamed went in a cave to receive god's words through an angel. thats very fishy to me. its all man made
one BIG q? why all prophets had to go up on top of a mount. or hide somewhere before they had come back with what they called god's words. if we think about it,it seems so fishy!!?
friends and enemies...lol
i testify that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad and jesus were both the messengers of Allah.
someone said 23 chromosones came from mary so rest 23 chromosones should be supplied from god ...(and this is scientific logic???)
then Qurans question is where did adams 23 chromosones come from as there was no mary?
Allah far above is He from the limited understanding of man and man has no relation with anything that man wants to relate him to.
READ THE QURAN .GET AN AFTERLIFE.
There are many questions that come to mind when the name Jesus is mentioned. Some people say he was a prophet; others call him a god, while others say he was a very wise man. But whatever your idea is, one thing remains certain: he was not your ordinary man. So if there is something special about him, why all the confusion? Just who was Jesus anyway? HIS ORIGIN Jesus lived about 2,000 years ago in ancient Palestine when the Roman Empire was at its zenith. He was not conceived in the usual way, but was implanted in the womb of a young woman named Mary. God simply commanded, “Be” and he was. In this sense, he was “a word” of God and a special sign for humanity. In fact, he was the last in a long line of religious guides sent to the Jews. MARY, THE BLESSED Mary was a righteous woman. Her mother dedicated her to God’s service even before she was born. As a child, she lived a life marked by health and righteousness, which others pointed to in admiration. She was raised by the wise Zechariah, who instilled in her, a beautiful sense of faith in God. When she had become a young woman, Mary sought to purify herself further before her Lord. Knowing that the hustle of life in the towns was distracting, she withdrew from her people to a sanctuary in the East. There she could meditate in seclusion and peace. Suddenly, on a day that seemed no different from the rest, an angel of God visited her, disguised in the likeness of a human. Afraid of so strange a sight, Mary prayed for protection, but the strange being reassured her and declared that he was a messenger from the Lord to announce the glad-tidings of a faultless son. Mary, astounded, asked how this was possible seeing that no man had ever touched her. But the angel replied, “Your Lord says, it is easy for Me …”. But when she felt the little child within her, she fled her sanctuary out of fear of what her family would do or say when they heard the news. Mary, however, was not to face hardship. When in her despair she cried out to God for oblivion, a voice soothed her and she found shade and a cool spring. Under a date-palm in the warmth of late summer, she made her dwelling and there bore the child unlike any other in human history. Shortly thereafter, Mary returned to her community carrying the child who was to be called Messiah, Jesus, and son of Mary. When her people saw her with the baby in her arms they couldn’t believe their eyes, let alone accept her word. They refused to believe when she told of an angel who came and told her she was chosen above all other women to carry this burden. They accused her of infidelity and implied that she had ruined the family name. Mary, being overwhelmed, simply motioned towards the child meekly. THE MIRACLES Now the child was the product of a miracle and consequently, miraculous things began to happen. In defense of his mother and of the truth, the infant Jesus spoke saying, “I am a servant of God. He has given me Scripture and has made me a Prophet. He has blessed me wherever I may be and has made prayer and charity my duty as long as I live.” This put the detractors to rest. Throughout his youth, Jesus remained dutiful to his mother and developed quickly in intelligence, wisdom, and piety. He dumfounded the learned and was greatly admired by those around him who appreciated his talents. He claimed to be a sign of God and a Messenger to the Israelites. His people had strayed from the spirit of truth and placed their trust in legalism, thereby burying their sense of mercy beneath dusty scrolls and rituals. Finally, when he came of age, Jesus began to travel and preach throughout the land of Palestine about a return to the truth of the old revelations and a rejection of all that man had added. In his task he was supported by the spirit of truth, the angel Gabriel. THE GOSPEL, HIS MESSAGE He taught that love and mercy overcome hate and anger and that only a true and sincere faith in the Creator and obedience to His will can bring a person salvation in this life as well as in the next. To reinforce his message, which was called “Injeel” (Good News), God granted him the performance of miracles. He healed the sick, uplifted the distressed and revived the dead. All these things he did with the permission of God, never taking credit for them himself. He led a simple and pious life. Soon he attracted an inner-circle of devoted followers who listened to his teachings with fervor and humility. These disciples, among them Peter, Barnabas, and John helped him carry the message of Divine Love to the people. They helped him in his mission. A TEST OF WILLS But no righteous man of God is without trial and tribulation. As the message of Jesus began to gain wider acceptance, a small clique of hypocrites and evil men began to plot against him. They were the priests and leaders of the Jews whose position and wealth depended upon their place as the sole interpreters of religion to the masses. They pursued him and his followers and eventually captured him. Though they abused him, he never renounced his faith in the one God. So in their anger they plotted to crucify him on a Roman cross. But Jesus slipped from their grip at the last moment, and all the while they thought they had succeeded. They were sure they had killed him but God answered Jesus’ prayer and saved him from their schemes. Confusion overtook the mob and they might have killed the man who betrayed Jesus instead. In any case, Jesus escaped from their grasp. Then God removed Jesus from this world into another dimension, to a place with Him, not to return until a later time. With their teacher gone, the devoted followers of Jesus tried to maintain the purity and simplicity of his teachings. But they were soon besieged and overtaken by a flood of Roman and Greek influences, which eventually so buried and distorted the message of Jesus that only a little of its truth now remains. Strange doctrines of Jesus being a man-god, of God dying, of saint worship and of God being made up of different parts came into vogue and were accepted by many of those who took the name “Christians” centuries after Jesus. CONCLUSION The only records that have come down to us concerning Jesus are some sketchy biographical material, poorly researched and compiled, which can in no way be representative of the full and accurate Message of Jesus, the Son of Mary. The time of the final and incorruptible Message was not yet at hand. It would be left to the last prophet of God, Muhammad (peace be upon him), to clarify the truth from man’s additions and deletions. Jesus taught the same eternal message that was taught by all the Messengers of God, from Adam, on through Noah, Abraham, Moses and ending with the mission of God’s last Guidepost to humanity, Muhammad (peace be on them all), whose coming was foretold by Jesus himself. Every nation and every people, from the Aztecs to the Greeks, have received a Prophet or a Messenger from God. Jesus was the last of a series of Messengers sent to the Israelites, but they consistently strayed from the path of surrender to God. Each of the many Messengers spoke a different language and followed varied customs. Yet the core faith taught by each was the same: surrender your imperfect and fickle will to the perfect will of the Power that is greater than you. You will then find the peace and freedom that only the Creator of all things can provide. Then you must do what is right and good to your fellow creatures. This way of life is called Islam (surrender to God and find peace).
SirDent...
I like all you have pointed out, and it is true.
Thank you!
DEQ, looks like you received quite a hefty load of feedback.
Mine will be small, but to the point:
Y`shua was not A prophet, but the summary of all prophet and prophecy. Before or after him, there can be no more, there is no need for more. All prophecy pointed to him.
He is the Son of Elohim, meaning the firstborn of many sons, who will not die but life forever -literally- as witnessed by his rising and the others seen as well. What is MOST important is not the repeated 'book words, chapter, verse but rather genuine ACTION to see it for yourself.
"Be therefore DOERS of the word, not just listeners -deceiving your own mind, heart and body- leading to death of all three.
Well, i have to start with saying that you have some interesting stuff on here that has made me think. I also have to say that I disagree with a lot of it. First off Jesus is the Son of God. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life." This tells me who Jesus is. Also in the Bible, there is the Trinity. 3 parts; 1 ultimate being. The Father being God, The Son- Jesus, and the Spirit- The Holy Ghost. Making Christianity a monotheistic religion, seeing as the three parts in a sense, are all One. God sent his human form, aka his Son, Jesus into the world to die for our sins. After the crucifixtion n the Devil's defeat, Jesus ascended into heaven and The Spirit part remained here on earth to help and guide followers of Christ with their everyday lives. And you spoke of the term "Son of God." The meaning of the term depends on capitalization, believe it or not. When used as "son of God," the term refers to everyone-seeing as we are all God's children. However, when capitalized it takes on a whole new meaning. The "Son of God," is Jesus-who once again is a part of God Himself. Compare Matthew 5:9(mentioned above) to say, Matthew 3:17 when the voice from Heaven-God, spoke and said "This is My beloved Son(Son being Capitalized) in whom I am wellpleased." Capitalization is key. Also, you mentioned Jesus's need to pray. This is tricky. While in Heaven Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and God are all One. The Holy Spirit "knocked up" Mary and Jesus was put on the Earth. This, in a sense, broke the Trinity. Now, in three parts we had Jesus- God's Son conceived of the Holy Spirit- Jesus on Earth was indeed human-tempted and tried by the devil, yet perfect; God-The Creator and all-powerful, ever-exsistant being who Was and Is and Is to come; and We had the Holy Spirit who remained in Heaven with God until Jesus's crucifixion and ascension. Thats why He had to pray. In heaven He was part of God. On Earth, He was God in human form, aka the Son of God, connected to God thru the Holy Spirit which was accessed thru prayer.
Hmm...interesting thought gulnazahmad. So, let me get this straight: Jesus prophesied His own death and resurrection, tells the disciples this information repeatedly, and then, as He is on the cross, Allah, in his infinite wisdom whisks him aways to heaven, deceiving His enemies into believing that he has been crucified (so says the Quran) In light of this, please clarify something for me. As we can see from the early Christian church, Allah deceived not only Christ's enemies, but his disciples as well, in fact, to be honest, the entire ancient world. So then, Christ's disciples proceed to zealously pursue the gospel of Christ's death and resurrection, effectively beginning the largest false religion in the world. Strange logic for Allah it seems. Even stranger is the fact that Christ, being second only to Mohammed, failed to gain one lasting convert to Islam. So, Judging from this (your absurdly erroneous concept of history) Allah started Christianity, and Christ was a massive failure. Wow, what a brilliant supposition!
Isn't it odd, and highly suspicious, that the three requirements for salvation as laid out in the New Testament are the very three things Mohammed told his followers to deny? The crucifixion of Christ, his resurrection, and his deity? Methinks we have a false prophet on our hands, he did after all, believe he was demon-possessed during his first "revelation." Oh, and he had suicidal thoughts as well. Oh, and the Satanic Verses gave polytheists permission to worship three supplementary goddesses. That is, until Mohammed realized he had been deceived by Satan, and recanted this revelation. But wait, what does Deuteronomy 18:20 say concerning this? "But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death." Oops, I guess Mohammed missed that part.
Jesus could not be the son of Allah neither he was God in himself He was a prophet and a messenger of Allah. If he was God himself then how will you justify his death do you believe that your God died on the cross this is actually ridiculous and this cannot be true. Even that is not true he did not die on cross but taken by Allah alive and he will come back before resurection day.
It was pleasure for me to read all of the comments here. What I understand is that the arguments for "Jesus as prophet" are realistic and reference based. However, arguments against the topic are ilogical and not reference based. Muslims are giving references both from Quran and Bible to support their arguements. On the other, Cristians are puting reference only from Bible. What does it mean? There is contradictions in Bible. And A contradicting things cannot be words of God. So, belive on Quran. There is no contradiction in it.
I would like to add here something from Bible as well:
"MASTER, WE WOULD SEE A SIGN FROM THEE". (Matthew 12:38).
"AN EVIL AND ADULTEROUS GENERATION SEEKETH AFTER A SIGN; AND THERE SHALL NO SIGN (no miracle) BE GIVEN TO IT, BUT THE SIGN (miracle) OF THE PROPHET JONAS: FOR AS JONAS WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE WHALE'S BELLY; SO SHALL THE SON OF MAN BE THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH."
I put question to my Christian brothers and sisters, DID JESUS (PBUH) FULL FILLED THE SIGN OF JONAH? NO, Jonah did not die in the bally of fish. However Jesus died (according to your believe). Jonah retured after 3 days and 3 nights but Jesus was in the belly of earth from Friday afternoon to Satuday morning that's mean 2 days to 2 night. Jonah leaded normal life when he returnt but Jesus did not.
So it is your own decision whether you will be in false believe or come in true teaching in islam.
Allahu Akber
My question to Christians. Why would God need a son? Humans have children, God doesn't. A father, a mother or a child, these are all relationships that pertain to human beings, not to God. God created humans. When a human being is born, he/she is a child. After he/she grows up and has a child of his own, he/she becomes a father/mother. This is a process that has been going on since the time of Adam and Eve. You think one day God thought of having a child of his own? No!
Also the belief that Jesus was not just a son of God but actually God himself or at least in part makes the description of God weak. God has described himself clearly in the Holy Quran in Surah Ikhlas. Here is the translation of that Surah:
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only!
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not nor is He begotten.
And there is none like unto Him.
After reading that if you put the description to test, you'll realize Jesus can be compared! Example: John was taller than Jesus. Jesus was faster than John. Jesus had blond hair where as John had brown. You get the point. So how can a man who could be compared to another be God? And if Jesus was God, before he was crucified as Christians believe, why did he pray to God?
Jesus was never the son of God nor was he God. He was a prophet and a great one!
Many Christians believe the bible was partly corrupted over the years but they don't want to admit the possibility of it getting corrupted in this area. If it weren't corrupted, you wouldn't have had contradictions. And you most definitely wouldn't have needed to make revisions. The Quran has been there from the past 1400+ years and never was it revised!
See what Quran says on miraculous birth of Jesus......
Quran(3: 42-51).........She said: "O my Lord!
How shall I have a son When no man hath touched me?"
He said: "Even so: Allah createth What He willeth:
When He hath decreed A Plan He but saithTo it, 'Be', and it is!"
So God do not need to say 'Be' and the chromosomes are there, that does not mean God become his father (God forbid). God did not say he supplied his chromosome to Jesus, that is your absurd idea. Please dont mis interpret the verses for proving your ideas. And according to your theory God will be father to Adam and Eve too. Whos chromosome did Adam get??
---Lets do this the scientific way----
1)Jesus was the son of Mary. -no dispute here right?
2)A woman can ONLY give 23 chromosomes to her child. -again no dispute.
3)A human has 23 pairs, thus, the other 23 must come from a partner. - Right?
4)So either Mary had sex and the entire prophesy is a lie (which goes against the Koran AND the Bible) OR God supplied her with the other chromosones meaning Jesus was the son of God.
So when Jesus claims God is his father, well he is not lying. Who else would be his father?
He is not saying "I am God". Jesus was a PROPHET sent by God. He is more special than ANY other prophet because his birth was divine and he will return in the end times as he must die a human death.
Get a grip people God is the only father, and Jesus, Son of ary was sent as Savior. That's it, that's all.. Jews don't believe in Jesus, that confirms to me that they are the devil reincarnated, war mongers just plain bad dominating people. Having said that Ihope this Jewish Lady get appointed to the S cOURT. rEMEMBER THAT EVEN WITH HER THE BALANCE OF POWER, AS IT SHOULD BE WILL BE jEWS 3 CATHOLICS 6
I just want to correct the name of the last verse above
it`s written above Mather 23:8 but it must be Matthew 21:46.
Thank u for ur great Effort.
i belive that jesus is the prophet of god not the son of god or the spiritual son
yes,it is true zezus(eeshaa)is messenger of Allaah.
I) Position of Jesus (pbuh) in Islam:
(i)Islam is the only non-Christian faith, which makes it an article of faith to believe in Jesus (pbuh). No Muslim is a Muslim if he does not believe in Jesus (pbuh).
(ii) We believe that he was one of the mightiest Messengers of Allah (swt).
(iii) We believe that he was born miraculously, without any male intervention, which many modern day Christians do not believe.
(iv) We believe he was the Messiah translated Christ (pbuh).
(v) We believe that he gave life to the dead with God’s permission.
(iv) We believe that he healed those born blind, and the lepers with God’s permission.
II) Concept of God in Christianity:
1. Jesus Christ (pbuh) never claimed Divinity
One may ask, if both Muslims and Christians love and respect Jesus (pbuh), where exactly is the parting of ways? The major difference between Islam and Christianity is the Christians’ insistence on the supposed divinity of Christ (pbuh). A study of the Christian scriptures reveals that Jesus (pbuh) never claimed divinity. In fact there is not a single unequivocal statement in the entire Bible where Jesus (pbuh) himself says, "I am God" or where he says, "worship me". In fact the Bible contains statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in which he preached quite the contrary. The following statements in the Bible are attributed to Jesus Christ (pbuh):
(i) "My Father is greater than I."
[The Bible, John 14:28]
(ii) "My Father is greater than all."
[The Bible, John 10:29]
(iii) "…I cast out devils by the Spirit of God…."
[The Bible, Mathew 12:28]
(iv) "…I with the finger of God cast out devils…."
[The Bible, Luke 11:20]
(v) "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
[The Bible, John 5:30]
2. The Mission of Jesus Christ (pbuh) – to Fulfill the Law
Jesus (pbuh) never claimed divinity for himself. He clearly announced the nature of his mission. Jesus (pbuh) was sent by God to confirm the previous Judaic law. This is clearly evident in the following statements attributed to Jesus (pbuh) in the Gospel of Mathew:
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
"For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
[The Bible, Mathew 5:17-20]
3. God Sent Jesus' (pbuh)
The Bible mentions the prophetic nature of Jesus (pbuh) mission in the following verses:
(i)"… and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me."
[The Bible, John 14:24]
(ii)"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent."
[The Bible, John 17:3]
4. Jesus Refuted even the Remotest Suggestion of his Divinity
Consider the following incident mentioned in the Bible:
"And behold, one came and said unto him, ‘Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’
And he said unto him, ‘Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’ "
[The Bible, Mathew 19:16-17]
Jesus (pbuh) did not say that to have the eternal life of paradise, man should believe in him as Almighty God or worship him as God, or believe that Jesus (pbuh) would die for his sins. On the contrary he said that the path to salvation was through keeping the commandments. It is indeed striking to note the difference between the words of Jesus Christ (pbuh) and the Christian dogma of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus (pbuh).
5. Jesus (pbuh) of Nazareth – a Man Approved of God
The following statement from the Bible supports the Islamic belief that Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet of God.
"Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know."
[The Bible, Acts 2:22]
6. The First Commandment is that God is One
The Bible does not support the Christian belief in trinity at all. One of the scribes once asked Jesus (pbuh) as to which was the first commandment of all, to which Jesus (pbuh) merely repeated what Moses (pbuh) had said earlier:
"Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adonai Ikhad."
This is a Hebrew quotation, which means:
"Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord."
[The Bible, Mark 12:29]
It is striking that the basic teachings of the Church such as Trinity and vicarious atonement find no mention in the Bible. In fact, various verses of the Bible point to Jesus’ (pbuh) actual mission, which was to fulfill the law revealed to Prophet Moses (pbuh). Indeed Jesus (pbuh) rejected any suggestions that attributed divinity to him, and explained his miracles as the power of the One True God.
Jesus (pbuh) thus reiterated the message of monotheism that was given by all earlier prophets of Almighty God.
NOTE: All quotations of the Bible are taken from the King James Version.
III) Concept of God in Testament:
1. God is One
The following verse from the book of Deuteronomy contains an exhortation from Moses (pbuh):
"Shama Israelu Adonai Ila Hayno Adna Ikhad".
It is a Hebrew quotation which means:
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord"
[The Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4]
2. Unity of God in the Book of Isaiah
The following verses are from the Book of Isaiah:
(i) "I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour."
[The Bible, Isaiah 43:11]
(ii) "I am Lord, and there is none else, there is no God besides me."
[The Bible, Isaiah 45:5]
(iii) "I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me."
[The Bible, Isaiah 46:9]
3. Old Testament condemns idol worship
(i) Old Testament condemns idol worship in the following verses:
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"
"Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God."
[The Bible, Exodus 20:3-5]
(ii) A similar message is repeated in the book of Deuteronomy:
"Thou shalt have none other gods before me."
"Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that in the earth beneath, or that is in the water beneath the earth."
"Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God."
[The Bible, Deuteronomy 5:7-9]

assalam o alaikum .( may peace be upon u all)...
well regarding that jesus is the son of god or not.? my answer is no he is not the son of god but prophet of god and son of mary ( mariam) who was sent on the people of israel..... and its one of the sign of exsistence of god and the power he has on everything and can do everything, so its a miracle of god...
second WHO IS GOD ?? OR THE DEFINITION OF GOD... is in QURAn -SURAH AL IKHLAS-....In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Say: He is Allah, the One!
Allah, the eternally Besought of all!
He begetteth not nor was begotten.
And there is none comparable unto Him
SO its up to u all to check if anything in this worl fit in to this definition.....if not even one fits then he s not god....
As a Muslim, I have deep love for Isa (Jesus) -- peace be upon him. I find great inspiration and joy in his life story, as well as in the purity of his example. However, to add a few considerations as further food for thought to your article, I have always found it strange that given the central place which the Lord's Prayer holds within Christendom that more Christians don't take note of how Jesus (peace be upon him) taught his companions to pray when he began: "Our Father, Who art in heaven." He didn't say "My Father, Who art in heaven." The clear indication is that God is the 'Father' of everyone -- and, therefore, we are all the daughters and sons of God -- in the sense that we all have been created by God
In addition, I also have found it interesting that there are three places in the New Testament -- namely, Matthew 19:17, Mark, 10:18 and Luke 18:19 -- in which Jesus (peace be upon him) asks the question: "Why callest thou me good? and, then, goes on to say: "God, alone, is good."
Now, obviously, Jesus (peace be upon him) is better than any of us living today, and, yet, his humility and devotion to the truth were such that he felt he needed to remind people that there is only the one God, and our service and sacrifice should be to God alone ... and this is the same teaching that was conveyed through the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and which is reiterated in the Qur'an any number of times. God may make distinctions among the prophets from the perspective of Divinity, but the Qur'an indicates that human beings are to make no distinctions and divisions among the prophets -- they are all the beloved emissaries and servants of God who provide a continuity of teachings concerning the nature and purpose of life ... teachings which they have learned through their spiritual relation with Divinity.
Finally, to take a historical perspective, the fact of the matter is that up until the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D./C.E. -- held at the behest of Constantine, Emperor of Rome -- many in the Christian world subscribed to a unitarian creed, but this came to an end when all but two of the more than 250 attendees voted against the understanding of Arius that Jesus (peace be upon him) was a revered, beloved, and gifted prophet of God -- but nothing more -- and voted in favor of the position of St. Alexander and St. Athanasius that Jesus (peace be upon him) was the son of God. This idea of Jesus (peace be upon him) being the son of God is a manifestation of a theological historical debate, and not due to anything that comes from God via revelation ... a debate which, in part, has been fueled by a misunderstanding that arises through the words attributed to Jesus when he is reported to have said that "I and the Father are one" -- a perspective which reflects a mystical point of view that one can find (if one cares to look) expressed in almost any spiritual/esoteric tradition -- from: Christianity, to: Islam (Sufi/tasawwuf), Judaism, Buddhism, Taoism, the Vedanta, and the spirituality of many Native peoples. That is, one could consider the words attributed to Jesus (peace be upon him) as being true without necessarily coming to the conclusion -- as some theologians have -- that Jesus (peace be upon him) is the son of God ... indeed, all of us have the potential to be one with God, and not separated/dispersed (or caught up in the world of seeming plurality), but few of us there are -- except for examples like: Jesus, Muhammad, Moses, (peace be upon them all) and other spiritual luminaries -- who have been made the requisite efforts and, by the Grace of God, have been raised to such spiritual heights.
PEOPLE ITS SO SAD TO SEE EVERYONE ARGUING ABOUT BELIEFS...WHY IS DAT? THEIR IS ONE GOD..NO ONE IS WORTHY OF WORSHIP BESIDES HIM...IT SAID SO IN THE BIBLE AND THE QURAN...WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BELIEVE DAT? GOD NEVER SAID WORSHIP ME IN MY CREATIONS- SO WHY DO U WORSHIP JESUS? DIDN'T GOD CREATED HIM? ITS ALL COMMON SENSE? ARE YOU DAT LACK OF UNDERSTANDING? JESUS HIMSELF SAID WORSHIP THE FATHER...WHY JESUS DIDN'T JUST SAY HE IS GOD AND NOT BEAT AROUND THE BUSH? PLEASE TELL ME? YOU CHRISTIANS ONLY KNOW HOW TO CONDEMN OTHER PEOPLE RELIGION AND CALL MUSLIMS DEBATERS...ITS NOT DEBATING BUT SPEAKING THE TRUTH WHICH YOU ALL REJECT..JESUS ALSO SAID WORSHIPPIN HIM WILL BE IN VAIN...WHY BELIEVE IN JESUS BUT YOU DONT LISTEN TO HIM? HOW SAD! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FOLLOW JESUS TEACHINGS AND PRAY 2 GOD!!! IF YOU REALLY FEAR GOD YOU WILL TRUST IN GOD ALONE AND NOT PUT HIS CREATION IN PLACE OF HIM FOR THAT IS A VERY BIG SIN...AND THE PERSON WHO SAID MUHAMMAD DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE SPEAKS-THEN YOU CALL GOD A LIE..AN ILLITERATE MAN WOULDN'T WASTE HIM TIME 2 DO SOMETHING HE CANT EVEN DO IN THE FIRST PLACE..GET WHAT IM SAYING? IF HE CANT READ NOR WRITE-HOW CAN HE POSSIBLY WRITE OVER THE BIBLE MAKING IT A LIE?? BUT HE HAD FAITH DAT THERE IS A GOD AND HE PUT ALL HIS TRUST IN GOD AND GOD BLESSED HIM WIT SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE WHICH HE SHARED AND IS SHARED ALL OVER THE WORLD TODAY..GOD CHOSE HIM 4 A MESSENGER? Y IS IT SO EASY TO BELIEVE IN MOSES N JESUS N NOT IN MUHAMMAD? HE PREACHED THE SAME THING? HE JUST MADE THINGS CLEARER..BUT THE IGNORANT WILL NEVER KNOW UNTIL THEY OPEN THEIR HEART AND MIND...STOP BEING ONE MINDED PEOPLE!!! IF YOU TRULY LOVE GOD, GAIN KNOWLEDGE AND YOU WILL EVENTUALLY SEE THE TRUTH... DON'T LET PEOPLE SPOON FEED YOU..LOOK FOR THE TRUTH YOURSELF... TRUTH IS SALVATION...MESSIAH MEANS ANOINTED ONE NOT SAVIOR AS YOU CHRISTIANS BELIEVE..AND PEOPLE CALLED KINGS LORD..THEY CONSIDERED JESUS A KING DEN SO THEY CALLED HIM LORD...IT DOESN'T MEANS HE IS GOD.OK? PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL...
Well one thing for sure Jesus is even in the quran. In the Book you referenced. It states this also only God heals and it states Jesus heals. Go figuar. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Whom came out of the Father Creator and came to the earth to preform the required atonement for the sins of the world so that men and woman could be forgiven sin. Was he a prophet, yes he was. Was he a apsotle, sure he was.
Was he God in the Flesh. The Son of God is also God in waiting. A King son is also a King in waiting. But my question why would anyone read the quran, that is tiolet paper. The person that wrote that is 100 percent nuts. You need to compare MoHammad in all aspects to the real prophets of God and get a better idea as to is he any kind of prophet. Because God has used all kinds of prophets not never a sexual devenent. And one who promotes everything that God speaks against.
That is why you cannot believe on the name of Jesus unless the God Of Heaven opens your heart to receive the finished works of his son Jesus on the cross by the Power of the Holy Spirit. So yes truth one day will be revealed.Meanwhile there is no other name given unto men by which you will be saved. It is his words against your Quran. So we shall see. It is the battle of the ages. Meanwhile I am going to heaven because I received the finished work of Christ on the cross. As he rose from the dead one day I will put on eternity and somebody else will be in hell saying I wish I had listen. Deception is one of the keys of the devil. Religion is not the answer. Sin is the problem and Christ freed me from the sin so I am go to heaven because of HIS CROSS and not my work or my religion.
Could evolution be another name for God? Evolution creates life (species) and in some instances new life (new species).
YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG!!! JESUS(ISSA PBUH) IS PROPHET, AND GOD(ALLAH) IS..WELL GOD AND ONE AN ONLY. WHOEVER DOES NOT BELIEVE IN THIS IS .........NOT GOING TO HEAVEN, sorry to break it up to you guys !
Biblic Morality
Christians consider it to be the "Word of God" Numbers, Chapter 31, verses 17? and 18
God command "kill every woman who has known man by lying with him,but all the female children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."
so that the soldiers could have these young girls "for themselves" (Pervert Bible God).
the above verses are note mentioned in Sunday school it proves the God of the Bible is a Pervert
Jesus isn't the Father/Allah.But he is The King in The Kingdom of Heaven as The chief priest. Everyone who live in heaven kingdom is The Son of God. It means that many people who is going to live in the heaven kingdom is sons of God as Jesus. Why Jesus is the Son of God? Because he came from there and to return with the lost sheeps at the end of world.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his ONE and ONLY Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Think this answers the debate
Peace
Something I have always wondered, and Muslims have confirmed this is true, Why would God throw a man around a cave and press him against a wall? The things we hear of today that do these things are Poltergeist and demons. So why don't I beleive mohammed - simply because he was possed by the devil. Its in the Quran.
I have looked at the Quran and the biggest thing that stands out for me is this. Jews where first, then Christians then Muslims. Lets keep it basic - Jews believed in God and then Jesus came and Expanded the Old Testiment to bring the New Testiment. income the Christians, some remaind Jews. Then a few hundered years later some guy throw around a cave tells us this
Sura 1 - Al-Fatiha (MAKKA) : Verse 7
not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).
So Jews where there first and loved by God otherwise you would not have a muslim religion at all!!! as Islam is a Arbahmic Religion and comes from the Jews - Who apparently God was angry with and also the Christians - yet for some reason they where the ones that went astray - How can they been the ones to stray when they where there first??
And Christians are muslims and believe in Islam - for Islam is to Submit to God (most religions do that) and a Muslim is "one who submits to God". So Mohammeds Religion as I like to call it, is fake and is false. I beleive that some Muslims are really good people and My friend Niyaz is an amazing guy, so full of peace, But to belive there words of a ranting mad man over the words of Jesus is just stupidity!
I was also told that MOhammed was a great General in the army and won many battles and killed many people. This is a Muslim telling me this. I am sure Killing is wrong? Did Jesus ever kill anyone? no infact he died himself so that we may be saved!
The Quran wants you to worship Mohammed - which I beleive most you you do.
I beleive the Religion of Mohammed is one of Evil.
I can listen to Mohammedists and they have some reasoning, but then they go and read the Qoran. So I say that Mohammedists are the ones who have gone astray.
I am entitled to my view - although if I voiced my view in a Mohammedist country then I think the Quran would say 2:191 And slay them wherever ye find them!
I will keep my Religion of Peace thanks.
A blind man who heard these verses that I quoted understood them perfectly and came away converted and believed with out a doubt that Jesus is God and the Son of God. Jesus said if you have seen me you have seen the father, I and the Father are one. (one God not two) I know it is hard for you to rap your mind around. It is not a mind thing but a faith thing. You have to believe it by faith.
A lot of comments have been talked about concerning Jesus the Son of God. Jesus was not only the Prophet of God, the Son of God, and God in flesh.
For all those who do not beleive Jesus is the Son of God, there is one way to prove that Jesus is the Son of God is to ask God in Jesus name to come into your heart and prove Himself. The Holy Spirit will come in and abide in you, and the Power of God will be forgiving in your lack of ignorance.
Each prophet was the saviour and light for his people during that time Moses was the saviour for his people during his time likewise prohet Noah for his people, the verse I and my father are one is for one purpose ,if you read John 10:21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me, which clearly states this. and if brother you still say that jesus and God are one in actual unity then Jesus further says in John10:23 to his disciples iam in thee and you are in me so does it mean that there are fourteen Gods no brothers .Jesus was a prophet and he was a great prophet
brothers it is mentioned in many places in the bible that jesus is a prophet
Luke 24:19 What things?" he asked. "About Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people,
Mathew 21:11And the crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee."
Unto us a child is born unto us a Son is given. God (Jehova) gave us His Son, Jesus. He was with the the Father before the world began. He was not created and then called a son.
In the beginnig was the Word ...and the Word was God (John 1:1) and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.
God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the nations, belived on in the world, recieved up into glory (I timothey 3:16) No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him (john 1:18)
One scripture settles it all. John14:6 Jesus said:
I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME.
He is the only Redeemer! One must take it or leave it to enter into eternal life.
Tom: I believe exactly what you stated, as you are quoting the trinity, which is the father, the son and the holy ghost.
Here are also a couple of passages from the Holy Bible that referencing Jesus as the Son of God.
YHWH(I am ) Exodus 3:14 , Isiah 43:10
Jesus: John 8:24 Romans 9:5 all of the reference and cross reference that Jesus is the Son of God.
I Cor. 8:6 says , "There is one God." you can also go to
www.rim.org/muslim/jesusisGod.htm this again will give you multiple passages to cross reference and proof that Jesus is the Son of God. :)
I believe that Jesus is our brother.....we are the sons and daughters of God....Jesus said,"Call no man Father but the Father in heaven." The Father is the power...the Father is the eternal.....concerning perfect love and truth....we are all a part of God...God is a part of us.
Jesus taught us how to be sons and daughters of God. I believe his message was to be kind and love one another. Is that not what all fathers want for their children?
DEQ,
No worries. To each his own. I'm not trying to convert anyone here and I long accepted the fact that people have different beliefs and religions.
My point is this, it doesn't matter what you believe in, or what religion you have or faith, as long as it makes us a better person, as long as we do no harm to our neighbor, as long as we respect and love one another whether they are jewish, muslim, christians, my God and your Allah would be proud of us.
You believe Jesus is a Prophet, I believe Jesus is one and the same as God the father. No problem. We all work for a common goal. And that is to the will of your Allah and me to do the will of God.
So to each his own. :) Peace!
kindly read the intro of the gospel of John. thanks!
u blokes there is nothing hard about this topic, Jesus is definitely is the Son of God, even God Jehovah says he is my only begotten son. But Jesus is not god at all and he never claims to be god or equal to god. Jesus mention so many times in the Bible that he is sent by he's father to do his will. Nothing so hard about this subject. But finally, Jesus is but the way to the truth, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me". U blokes, u just need to read your scriptures more carefully and with the power of the HOLY SPIRIT. The Bible is the word of god and not the Quean.
"Blessed are those who do not see but yet believe.."
The mystery of God, Son, and The Holy Spirit as three divine persons but one being is to complex for man's comprehension.
Try to comprehend this, "How can God Create something out of nothing" or How can we say that "God has NO Beginning and NO end"
In the world we live in, everything has a beginning, and everything has an end.
Have you seen God? Face to Face? Do you believe that we are created in his image and likeness? You haven't seen God but you believe that he exists.
I believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three divine persons but one being. That is part of God's mystery, part of His Greatness, part of Him being God.
With God nothing is impossible. You don't need to question if God can be in two places at the same time( Jesus here on earth while God in heaven), God is everywhere, even if it doesn't sound theologically right for you doesn't mean its impossible for God to do? He is The Almighty, and He understands that we can not comprehend everything that He can do. You search for proof that Jesus and God are one, but don't you get it? the fact that you can't find any proof is because nothing can prove They are One and The Same. Nothing in our world. Not even science.
You still ask me why I believe? and not question if Jesus is a prophet or God?
I don't need to doubt or question God. Who am I to do that?
I believe that there are 3 Divine Persons in One God because I have something called
FAITH...
I read a lot about God not having a wife throughout these comments. I have yet another question. Does your God need a wife in order to produce a son?
Mine doesn't need a wife for anything. He just has to say the word and a son is born to Him. The same power also allows God to be able to pour Himself into a body of flesh and live as men do, while yet maintaining His position in heaven. God can do anything, but fail.
i cannot belive the christians because issa was not the son of god but he was the prophet of Allah (S.A.W) HE NEVER HAD A MOTHER NEITHER A WIFE ,FATHER OR A CHILD.THE CHRISTIANS BELIVE THAT HE WAS THE SON OF GOD BUT THEY ARE WRONG.
Jesus is not son of GOD.he is a messenger of GOD.normally it was happent like this because messenger came to the world becase GOD want guide them to truth but after Messenger die they people are calling GOD.There is only one GOD...GOD is super power not like...weekness..sleep and eat..or do...think about yourself.God given sense to think not like Animal.

On the other hand I would like to share with you some info on the Quran. I got this from an article written Yusef Estes (A devout Christian parishioner who accepted Islam as the way of life)The Quran contains clear statements from Almighty God (Allah) and it is Him speaking to all of us in the first person. He tells of us our own creation, the creation of all that is the universe and what has happened to those before us and what is to become of us if we do not take heed of the warnings clearly spelled out in His Revelation. He speaks also to Muhammad, peace be upon him, to show that Muhammad, peace be upon him, is not making this up himself and even chastises Muhammad, peace be upon him, for making human assumptions rather than waiting for revelation in matters (i.e.; surah At-Tahreem and surah Abasa). Quran Mentions Itself The Quran refers to itself as "The Quran" (The Recitation) and mentions that it is to all mankind and jinn (another creation of Allah, similar to humans in that they could make choices as to whether or not they would obey God's Commandments, and they existed before humans). Quran Describes God's Nature Exactly The Quran is clear on who God is and who He is not. There is no room left for doubt after reading the Quran in the Arabic language: God is One. He is the only Creator, Sustainer and Owner of the Universe. He has no partners. He has no relatives; wives, children or offspring. He is not like His creation and He does not need it for His existence, while all the time the creation is totally dependent on Him. His attributes are clearly spelled out as the epitome of each and every one. He is for instance, the All-Knowing; the All-Hearing; the All-Seeing; the All-Forgiving; the All- Loving; the All-Merciful; the Only One God. There is never a contradiction to this found anywhere in the Quran. Quran Challenges Readers The Quran makes the clear challenge, that if you are in doubt about it - then bring a book like it. Also, to bring ten chapters like it and then finally, to bring one single chapter like it. 1,400 years - and no one has been able to duplicate it's beauty, recitation, miracles and ease of memorization. Another challenge for the unbelievers to consider; "If this (Quran) were from other than Allah, you would find within it many contradictions." And yet, another challenge offered by Allah in the Quran is for the unbelievers to look around for evidences. Allah says He will show them His signs within themselves and on the farthest horizons. Scientific Miracles in Quran The scientific miracles of the Quran could not have been understood at that time, yet today we take for granted the many things included in the revelation of the Quran. Some include mentioning: The formation of embryo in the womb of the mother (surah 98); deep seas partitions; waters that do not mix; clouds and how they make rain and how lightning is caused by ice crystals; formation of the earth's mountains deep underground; orbits of planets and stars and moons - and even the mention of space travel (surah 55:33).
I would like to add to this discussion. In neither of the four books of the Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) does Jesus (PBUH) ever utter that he is God However, as for the term “son of god”, it is interesting to note that the term "son of God" is used in other parts of the Bible to refer to Adam (Bible: Luke 3:38), Israel (Bible: Exodus 4:22) and David (Bible: Psalms 2:7 as well. The creatures of God are usually referred to in the Bible as children of God.Furthermore, Matthew 27:46 tells us that about the ninth hour Jesus (PBUH) cried with a loud voice, saying, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (On a side note he says , “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” – Eli is pretty close to Allah, which is what the all Prophets called God.”) Anyway, for the person on the cross to utter these words, shows that there is a questioning of God and his action? There are two points to be had here.
· First, if Jesus is God, then why would he question himself aloud.
· Second if the man on the cross is Jesus, then as a messenger of God he should understand that God has destined things for us. And a questioning of the destiny is tantamount to disbelief. (Muslims don’t believe Jesus died.)
It is not that Muslims don’t accept the earlier revelations, it is that the written form of the Old and New Testament is authored by man with numerous changes, errors and contradictions. In fact the Gospel according to Luke starts out as follows: “Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, 2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; 3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus.” This statement is basically saying that since others have written about the subject of Jesus (PBUH), than I to will write about Jesus (PBUH) as I believe I understand things correctly. This despite never meeting him. Thus, Luke is writing based on what he learned for others. But who did he learn from?Early Christian views varied with some tending to believe in Jesus’ divinity while others seeing him a prophet of God. It wasn’t until the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD that the concept of the Trinity was identified as God in the fullest sense, literally 'of the same substance, essence or being', hence in the further wording of the Creed. Some early followers of Jesus (PBUH), who authored the Gospel of Q, starting 50 CE, don’t appear to be aware of the resurrection of Jesus (PBUH). They did not mention the event in their writings. Furthermore, the Gnostics believe that prior to crucifixion Jesus (PBUH) swapped bodies with someone else. They write about this in the “The Acts of John” (circa 50 CE.) These writings were followed by many early Christian groups in the early years of the Christian church. The document was later suppressed by the church in the 8th century CE. In the writing, the disciple John flees from the execution to a mountain top and is amazed to meet Jesus (PBUH) on the mountain top while the crucifixion is going on. The author writes, "...we were like men amazed or fast asleep, and we fled this way and that. And so I saw him suffer, and did not wait by his suffering, but fled...and wept at what had come to pass. And when he was hung upon the cross...there came a darkness over the whole earth. And my Lord stood in the middle of the cave and gave light to it and said, 'John, for the people below in Jerusalem I am being crucified and pierced with lances and reeds and given vinegar and gall to drink. But to you I am speaking...I put into your mind to come up to this mountain so that you may hear what a disciple should learn from his teacher and a man from God." The notion of Jesus as son of God is something that was established under the influence of Paul of Tarsus (originally named Saul). Paul never met Jesus. In fact he was called Saul the persecutor and was an enemy, but later became a disciple, after the departure of Jesus (PBUH). Later, however, he initiated a number of changes into early Christian teachings. Paul is considered by a number of Christian scholars to be the father of Christianity due to his additions of the following ideas: o that Jesus is the son of God, o the concept of Atonement, o the renunciation of the Law of the Torah. Paul did these things in hopes of winning over the Gentiles (non-Jewish people). His letters are another of the primary sources of information on Jesus according to the Christian tradition. In Acts there are accounts of Peter opposing Paul on some of these topics. Nevertheless, Paul changed the law despite the following from Matthew 5:17-19 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.” My point is that there was much confusion in the early years of Christianity. Thus, I wonder which belief influenced Luke’s writings as well as the other writers of the Gospel. Since the Bible is written by man it is fallible with many mistakes and contradictions. One such contradiction is in Numbers 23:19 says “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”, yet someone still consider Jesus as the son of God? and then in John 3:16 speak of a begotten son. Another point of confusion is the different accounts of Judas’ death in Matthew and the Acts of the Apostles. There are many more that I could list. On the other hand I would like to share with you some info on the Quran. I got this from an article written Yusef Estes (A devout Christian parishioner who accepted Islam as the way of life)The Quran contains clear statements from Almighty God (Allah) and it is Him speaking to all of us in the first person. Wow, Ahmad, thanks for the link, I was on vacation and didn't bring my laptop so haven't been on the forum nor saw your email. Thanks, I think this is precisely what I'm looking for. Will write soon.
yea i do agree with all that the koran says..and the revelation to jesus was as authentic n passed on the same message tht god is one,he only should b worshiped n tht mohamad, jesus and the others r his messengers n prophets..no where its written tht jesus refers himself as son of god or god himself!moreover its the new scriptures of the bible which has been completely faked thus diverting it from its initial message which is the same as the koran only to prove tht priests n popes were right..factually it became the word of man n no more word of god..as a matter of fact older are scriptures of the bible, more authentic it is,thus closer to the koran..and the spirit is no one else then the angle gabriel in charge of delivering the message of god to the prophets..tht was his duty..he cannot b place as a figure of divity in no way..he was a creature of god
Jesus in Matthew 13:57 addresses himself as a prophet "AND THEY WERE OFFENDED IN HIM. BUT JESUS SAID UNTO THEM, A PROPHET IS NOT WITHOUT HONOR, SAVE IN HIS OWN COUNTRY, AND IN HIS OWN HOUSE"
I haven't really thought that far on it Onus. I believe it to have been knowledge fro sure. The Bible says "Knowledge puffs up." I will have to meditate and study on that for a bit really.
How absolutely interesting the symbolism of the tree of live Sir Dent, do you think then that the tree of knowledge of good and evil is a representation of the holy spirit?
I have a wrench to throw into this discussion. Muslims believe Muhammad to have been the prophet like Moses that was raised up. Now we know from the Old Testament scriptures that Moses talked to God face to face. Muhammad receive his visions and words from an angel.
The two are not alike in any way shape or form.
If you would read the Bible and see in the spirit, you will see Jesus in the Garden of Eden as the tree of life. Jesus is God manifest in the flesh to "SHOW" the way to man. God doesn't just "TELL US" anything. He always "REVEALS."
Jesus did supernatural healings. He had the abiltity to read the thoughts of man. Muhammad had a way of organizing men and encouraging them to believe him. Not one man was healed by Muhammad. Not one eye opened. Not one thought read.
am not one to believe in the trinitarian view of Christ either, there is a distinct seperation of the two, where God is the supreme govenor of the universe and father of all mankind, he has a tangible body made of flesh and bone seperate from Christ, When one speaks of God it is generally the father who is refered to and all mankind are his childeren. The personage known as Jehova from Old Testament times and who is usually identified as lord in the OT, is the son who is also a God. Jesus works under the direction of the father and is in complete harmony with him. all mankind are brothers and sisters with him, Him being the olsdest of the spirit children of God
In response to Onusonus, the phrase 'son of God' as used and understood by Jesus (pbuh) and his disciples meant nothing more than God's servant. It has nothing to do with the latter day orthodox Trinitarian interpretation that saw it in a radically different theological light that was alien to Jesus' teachings.

P.S. I didn't know about the Hadiths. I will look into those as well.
Apocalypse is the book I'm having difficulties with: again, it says that there will be no more prophets until Elijah returns and that's the end of the world, basically. It also speaks of a person that will woo many people into following him, and that could very well be Mohamed, who knows? I don't remember the details about this person by the Apocalyptic account, I'm no expert/teacher, and you're right, I don't know much about Mohamed, but I'm just beginning my real search.
Again: Is the Apocolypse one of those books that I should pay any attention to? There's quite a few things wrong with the Bible, the way it was put together, etc. How strong is that book in the bible's canon? How strong is each verse in this book? Could the book be referring to Mohamed?
Let me clarify:
Firstly, about my distrust of anything written: I believe that there's spiritual truth in the bible, even if the bible has been adulterated. I read it all of the time looking for spiritual growth, and I do find myself closer to God bc I'm seeking Him and use the bible and what I learn about how He wants us to behave as my guide. And I know what it says about the end days.... but is that one of the books that I should believe? the apocalypse? I mean, knowing the history of the bible, I cannot always just agree with whatever I read in it.
Secondly, by no means am I an atheist. Actually, I want to be in the right way with God, so I'm looking. I'm reading. I'm struggling. I'm asking. I'm praying and it's been very difficult.
I don't want to be one of those people who believes in Mohamad, but doesn't know why, or who has a doubt because it conflicts with something they read in the bible. I want to be sure.
Should I believe the Bible when it says that there will be no more prophets until Elijah? returns, which signals, basically, the end of the world. ? Should I take Mohamad as the person that will woo many people into following him in the end days?
Or should I not accept the apocalyptic book and take Mohamad as a prophet, a holy man?
My questions are:
What do I do about my nonbelief of anything written or verbal? I simply don't believe in the circular reasoning that people try to impose on you to believe the Bible nor the Koran. What do I base my search on then? I’m basing it off of my gut and mind, which, are both fallible. I guess the answer is pray for guidance.
Why couldn't Mohamed be a prophet? His behavior wasn’t exactly what I consider holy, to begin with, but let’s just say that one can argue that it was all in cultural and historical context, what other reasons are there?
Why is God more Jesus' father than mine?
It does not appear from the gosples that Jesus frequently refered to himself as the son of God (but see Matthew 27:43, Luke 22:70, John 5:25; 9:35-37; 10:36; 11:4) Though we often find it used by others speaking to him (eg., Matt. 14:33; 16:16; Luke 4:41; John 1:49; 11:27) and of him (Mark 1;1; John 3:18; 20:31). But there is ample proof that he claimed to be the son of God that was true to him and of no one else (eg.,Matt 11:27 Luke 10:22; Mark 13:32) He speaks of himself as son of God and others as sons of God, but there is not a single passage in which the sonship of others is spoken of as being the same thing as his own. so too he speaks of "my father" and "your father", but never of "our father." (The lords prayer is no exception as it was intended for deciples use.) There is a consistancy in scripture, ancient and modern, that Jesus Christ is litteraly the son of God the father in the flesh.
Jesus never said he was God or part of God or part yet full God
Issa Jesus is without a doubt the son of Mary, and a prprphet of god. God does not need a human figure that he created himself to conceive a human baby and call him his son. It's a no no.
I believe that there have been more prophets, even those who have seen Jesus standing on the right hand of God. But the world always rejects a true prophet untill after his sojourn. the thing about the holy spirit I believe is, if a person saw a miracle they wouldn't know without that spirit, they would be left to wonder weather or not God spoke to them. And the bible truely testifies of this. You still believe in the bible right?
God speaks to us all the time.,through his creations, miracles, disaster and all that good stuff. And am certain that he was the last holy prophet. messenger of god., because Jesus is just returning to finish his mission....therefore he is not the last prophet. He will however be the last prophet to have died upon his return and completion of his objective.
How are you so certain that he was the last prophet ever? Don't you think that God would have spoken to his children since then?
WELL, WE ARE NOT DISAGREEING JOHN ON WHETHER YOUR CURRENT BIBLE SAYS THAT. THE BIBLE HAS BEEN RE-WRITTEN SO MANY TIMES, THAT I DONT EVEN BELIEVE THERE IS ANY PURITY. I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH THE BIBLE AT ITS CURRENT STATUS. I DONT DISAGREE WITH THE BOOK OF JESUS....AND I ALSO DONT BELIEVE THAT JESUS WAS RESURECTED. YES MOHAMED WAS AFTER JESUS...MOHAMED WAS THE LAST PROPHET SENT TO MANKIND.
It seems to me that you only believe the parts of the bible that support the teachings of mohamed. So what of the commishioning of the apostles of Jesus? He gave them the authority to seal in heaven the things that are sealed on earth and to loose in heaven the things that are loosed on earth. He left with them the comforter. It isn't narrated by others, it is written by the apostles they were eye whitness accounts of the life of Jesus Christ unlike Mohamed, didn't he live long after the resurection of Christ?
Do you believe in the Holy spirit?
I believe that this thought pattern is a contradiction. Just because some of the chief priests thought he was a prophet doesn't mean that they had any understanding of his truely divine sonship with the father.
I also find it hard to believe that anyone could think that he was a prophet of God and not the son of God. He either was a false prophet or he was the son of God. He was either the son of God or he was insane. There is no middle ground.
You say that you believe in the bible but ignore the fact that it is repleate with the message that Jesus is the Christ, The Messiah, the deliverer, the only begotten Son of God in the flesh, the prince of peace, the king of kings, the savior of the world, the great mediator and advocate with the father, the only name under heaven by which men are saved from death and hell; the light and the life, the bread of eternal glory, lord of the sabbath, the good shepard, the holy one of Israel, the mighty one of Jacob, King of the Jews, and the great Jehovah.
This and much more is professed in the bible concerning one Jesus Christ.
I clearly agree.
I believe that Jesus was a prohet. But he was not son of God. He can't be called " Son of God" because it is clearly stated in one of the ten commandments in the holy bible, "thou shall not have any other gods before me, thou shall not worship or pray to any other gods before me." This for me means that we should only be praying to God. I'm not saying that Jesus did not exist because I believe he did. But just like in the Koran and Muslim belief, Mohammed was an important prophet just like jesus is for the Christians. And Allah for the Muslims is their god. Just how Catholics believe in God. I think that we should be praying to God, or Allah, which ever you believe in. And we should just respect Jesus and Mohammed. But none Jesus or Mohammed are Gods themselves. They were and stilll are just important Prophets or Messiahs how ever you call them.
On the other hand, the Jewish religion they are still waiting for their Anoited one, for their Messiah. They do not consider Mohammed or Jesus as the messengers of God.
So i just believe that we should respect the Prohets, Messiahs, and only pray to one God.
This question is for everyone in here to seriously ponder. If you died tonight and God asked you: "Why should I let you into my heaven?".
What would your answer be?
Think about it
I wondered this myself, why people were saying that Jesus is God, when Jesus says all the time, to have no other God other than God the creator of Heaven and Earth (everything), I think that I read in the Qua'ran that, God will close the ears and eyes of many, and I guess I believe that because I don't understand why it is so clearly stated by Jesus, yet the understanding seems to go over their heads. But one time I told my brother, I said: Jesus isn't God, he said, yes he is, I said, but Jesus said he is not God. He said: Sandy, son of God, means soul of God.
So while Jesus is not God, I fully understand this, no question about it, but...Jesus, has the heart of God, the essense of God (Allah)'s mercy and forgiveness. With that in mind, I always say Thank you God (Allah) for Issa (Jesus). I am sorry I don't know much about Mohomad, but I am sure he came with the same message, either way, Glory be to God (Allah) (Elohim)(Yaweh)(Jahova) or any other way you say God.
no its not real we are all the son of adam not god god dont have childrens he creat us and god who named ALLAH he is not married he dont have childrens he is the biggest 1 in the world
We are all children of God.
Interesting facts, you've forced me to question my own understandings.
